UX RESEARCH & DESIGN WORK
A Reimagined Journaling Experience
“Designing is not just something you do [...], but rather it helps form your identity. Design becomes a part of one’s being” (Lawson & Dorst, 2009, pp 270)
This is a research for design project that explores how we can apply what we’ve learned from design to our personal lives, specifically in dealing with uncertainty in transitional life periods
I investigated ways of thinking and doing that design experts take on; adapted design strategies and frameworks into the context of life uncertainty; and packaged the insights into an interactive reflection journal
Cisco U. Learner Persona Project | UX Research @ Cisco
Persona Research Project Overview:
I led the discovery and creation of learner personas for Cisco U. This foundational research work described the complexity of online IT learner profiles, behaviors and mindsets.
My work received positive recognition from Cisco’s Learning and Certification team and was used to guide product strategy and design updates for the next launch.
Key Learnings:
This work has taught me to design, conduct and report research studies at a rapid pace for foundational, generative, and evaluative product phases
Website Navigation Redesign | UX Design @ Atlanta Federal Reserve
Web Redesign Project Overview:
I redesigned the Atlanta Fed website navigation system by engaging with users and stakeholders. The redesign improved the findability and discoverability of key content with a highlight on the Atlanta Fed’s “bread and butter”.
Work highlight:
Due to the team restructuring, I was given the opportunity to take the lead design role for this project. Working in an established traditional organizational environment has sharpened my stakeholder communication skills. I learned to use visuals and stories to communicate UX concepts to non-designers, and run design workshops to educate the team about user-centered design approaches.
Co-designing Ethical Support | UX Design Research @ Purdue UXP2 Lab
Co-Design Project Overview:
I led the design of digital co-design workshop series and facilitated both online and in-person co-design workshops for socio-technical practitioners to explore new means of ethical support and construct personalized “ethics toolkits” to deploy in their area of practice.
This work is published at the IEEE - ETHICS 2023 Conference
Key Learnings:
Working as a UX research assistant for the past 2.5 years has trained me in designing, planning, and conducting mixed-methods research, including semi-structured interviews, co-design workshops, diary studies, usability studies, data analysis and insight delivery
S61C Pilot Training Mobile App Redesign | End-to-End Product Design
Mobile App Redesign Project Overview:
The app redesign included information architecture, navigation, onboarding, feature reconfiguration and UI design.
Delivered high-fidelity prototypes of the S61C pilot training mobile application redesign. The design was adopted and is now live to the public.
key Learnings:
I worked in a start-up culture where I experienced a full product cycle and delivered end-to-end product research and design in a short timeline.
