DESIGN is about PEOPLE
I love art, food and user-centered design, and they are my unique ways to Communicate, Conect and Share with others
Hello, my name is Nicole Li. I am a Senior majoring in User Experience Design at Purdue University with minors in Computer Science and Psychology. I am passionate about UX design and research, and I am most interested in topics around tech ethics and digital wellbeings for vulnerable populations. I am working as a Research Assistance on the NSF-funded project on Everyday Ethics in socio-technical practice.
I have had experience working as a UX Design Intern at a startup company. During my time as a UX design intern, I was tasked with building a B2C mobile application in the aviation industry. I took the initiative to draft a research plan, worked collaboratively with other designers on conducting user testings, and created a baseline of UX metrics. At the end of my internship, I translated the user insights into high-fidelity interactive prototypes. The design work has been fully adopted by the company, and the product is currently under development.
To me, design is about communicating, connecting, and sharing. I love art and food in my leisure time, and as someone who is studying abroad, they have helped me relate to people across the globe with diverse cultural backgrounds. I relied on drawing to tell stories about myself in a visual way. I continue to look for meaningful ways to share stories, emotions, and meanings with people through design in technology.
As a user experience designer, I am committed doing reflective, intentional and value-centered work. I have found great value by creating designs that connect with people, speak for their needs, and share meaningful moments.
